    Criticism of Israel & its policies is not anti Semitism. As a Jewish person I can’t stress this enough; slapping an anti semitism label on someone for being critical of Israel shuts down debate & discussion around a very real and important issue

    I'm not going to defend . Her tweet was ill-considered. But it is vitally important we distinguish between criticism of Israel and anti-Semitism. And we also must recognize the massive response against Rep. Omar for what it is--a spasm of fear about our changing times.

    By definition, a lobby seeks to influence politicians. AIPAC is a lobby representing the interests of Israel, not the Jewish people! There's nothing anti-Semitic about saying AIPAC influences politicians, that's exactly their job description. I welcome comments.
