    A very exciting development - a major investment by a famous Bedford institution. Plus, with the visitor centre, on-site pub and more, another attraction and reason to visit and enjoy Bedford.

    He’s promised to respond on these matters, & at the least now knows just how critical they are for Bedford Borough. I had to point out that his website talks of ‘improving rail services’ for his constituents, while we’re fighting for the government not to reduce Bedford’s!

    Thanks to Rail Minister for mtg yesterday. Raised key rail issues including Wixams station, East West Rail, & huge impact of upcoming loss of peaktime fast trains. Also insisted Bedford must not lose intercity trains in longer term under new franchise,as was proposed

    Just seen the final data on council tax increases nationally. Ours is not only the lowest of all neighbouring councils but is almost the lowest in the country for unitary councils, with only 3 out of 56 having a lower increase this year.
