My best background day was a ford commercial. We shot 3 different commercials that day (3x$366) on top or a 13 hour day. I made $1800 in 1 day as a background actor.

What's the scale for one day of backgrounding?

Lol

Was taking a tour on some military battle ship like 3 years ago and they had a air show with planes flying over us. Long story short wear ear plugs when they demonstrate what a sonic boom looks like when they’re flying 200 ft from you.

Your plant hasn’t really grown much in 4 1/2 months

What the song called at 00:30?

It's a pretty decent gig, isn't it? Lol

Honestly no, it’s cool the first time then it gets depressing because you get treated like cattle And the pay is usually like $53/4hours. Being an extra on a tv, movie, or commercial is 10x better than Doing audience work

Looks like you were busy playing tag

Do you get insurance through the union?

You need to make something like $19,000 for plan 2 and $32,000 for plan 1.

Nah it definitely does not take that long, the main background agency uses Facebook/Twitter to post what they need and if you fit the description you just call the number. A lot of time they will text you to see if your available to work.

It’s a promo for a Facebook series called 5 points. Source: I worked one of their promos as a background actor. Also here’s the link https://instagram.com/p/Be8vrJAH-8D/ Edit: Fun Fact: when working on one of their other promos like these, the title/project name was called “viral video” on my voucher (prof of work) seems like It did go viral, interesting.

As much as I love JC and Larry. It's hard to call them the "young core"' when they are both 25 (Kyrie is 25, KCP is 24).

This trade just trimmed the roster down to the absolute young core + Deng.

I thought KCP was like 30 lol

full time background actor, ask me anything!

where would I have seen you in?

No one really does it, only the rookies. Depending how far Your away from the principals everyone usually whispers

people pay you for that?

Yup, production needs background and the only way they can get people is if they pay them. Non union for tv/movies (which is what you will be make if if you started) is $96 ($12 an hour) for 8 hours but since I’m SAG-AFTRA union I make $166 ($20.75 an hour) for 8 hours. Commercials are different and the pay is way better but there extremely hard to get booked on. Working as union on a background commercial, the pay is $366.67 (like $45 an hour) for 8 hours. It’s stupid easy and I love my job.

That's cool! Can you spot yourself on shows you've been on? How did you get this job and do you get enough hours to actually afford to live in LA?

I live with my dad he charges me $400 a month in rent so yeah. But to start off getting jobs you should should sign with central casting there pretty much the big dogs in the background industry. Then you find this thing we called a “call in service” like pretty much you tell them your availability and they find you jobs. When I was non union I made about on average $2250 a month

What? Who would he be in trouble with?

He would get in trouble with production because everyone signs an NDA (non disclosure agreement) basically saying he can’t take pictures/video of the set, production, or the actors.

The guy taking the photo would? Isn’t he just some random off the street?

Nope, he’s on set of an upcoming film called quiet peace.
