Hey paisanos, we're looking for a few new mods to help out on r/Nintendo.
We're primarily looking for people who can be familiar with our rules, answer modmail, and approve or remove submissions. Successful applicants will need to use the toolbox browser extension. There will be other ways to help the community too, but our main priority right now is better, faster, consistent communication with users. Our moderation team is a close group of friends, and we're also looking for people who can be active in our Slack both to discuss subreddit decisions and to be on the lookout for fresh, juicy memes.
Previous moderation experience isn't necessary. We are looking for people across multiple time zones. If you have any other skills you think are worth mentioning let us know!
We're not looking for an essay reply to these questions but we are looking for thoughtful answers. We won't dismiss your application if Urban Champion is your favourite Nintendo game but we will if you can't give a sincere, interesting response less than 500 characters. Same goes for the other questions.
Finally, this is a volunteer gig. We do not get paid, we do not have any communication with Nintendo, and we do not have a treasure trove of secret insider information. My reward has been some deep friendships with a diverse team of different backgrounds. In my opinion that is absolutely worth it.
What is the best Nintendo game? It's crazy, I know, but r/Nintendo has been here for 10 years and still we haven't come to a consensus. Something must be done! The Tuesday Tussle is our weekly series where we determine which of the 1246 Nintendo games released before March 26, 2018 (r/Nintendo's 10th anniversary) is the greatest. Head on over to the original post to see how we determined what exactly a Nintendo game is, and how we're going to determine the greatest.
In Round 1 of our tournament, there's 128 brackets of ~ten games. Each week we'll present you with four brackets, and the two games in each bracket that get the most votes will advance to the next round. This week you're voting on brackets 117 through 120.
Vote here on this Google Form. And make sure to let us know in the comments your favourite memories of these games!

It can be anything, ranging from a simple experience - like turning on your GameCube for the first time - or a major one, like dramatic moments or even game announcements.
My examples are (and I'm going to be adding more and more as I keep remembering):
-The ending to Luigi's Mansion 2, with Luigi getting recognition from Mario and his Pup now being canon together as Owner and Dog. It's so wholesome and seeing Luigi finally get just a simple gesture of praise from Mario and the Pup living with him, it fills my heart with joy.
-"Everyone is here"
-The final climb on Super Mario Odyssey
-I don't remember it correctly, but there is a suicide/sacrifice in Fire Emblem: Awakening that is quite hard-hitting.
-Satoru Iwata
In Gooigi’s introduction cutscene in Luigi’s Mansion 3DS, Professor E. Gadd of the future (Aka the one from Dark Moon) sends Gooigi back in time to be tested by E. Gadd of the original. He wants Luigi to take Gooigi into the mansion to test him and make sure he’s up to snuff.
What if Gooigi is literally being tested here? Not by E. Gadd, but by Nintendo, to see how people react and feel about a multiplayer Luigi’s Mansion. What if they intend to bring Gooigi back for Luigi’s Mansion 3 and are gauging feedback via this game?
Could an RPG with a world full of interesting lore, memorable characters, character development, moral choices, and a well written story and villain be success on a Nintendo platform?
Would romance be too boring? Stardew Valley has them.
Would the game have to be short and have a cartoonish art style to be accessible to the mainstream crowd?
Would the politics and social issues that are present in many RPGs bore players?
Would it be a good idea or would Nintendo gamers have no interest in such a a game even if it was of high quality and earned rave reviews?
Looks as if 2K wants you to only purchase Playgrounds 2. The first one was going for $10, and I've seen it only yesterday. Now it's gone and I don't think they will bring it back up again since the second one is just an updated roster. So, those who plan on purchasing the first game instead, you're too late on it.
EDIT: The game has been removed from PS4, Xbox ONE, and Steam as well.
Basically I mean your favorite tutorial levels, or the beginning cutscenes to Nintendo Games.

Luigi’s Mansion is one of the first games I ever played and I absolutely adore everything about it. I love the menus, the music, the sounds, pretty much everything.
So when Nintendo announced a 3DS version and that it was by Grezzo, I had a few reservations as well as a few hopes.
Grezzo have proven themselves to me as competent remake developers by their work on the N64 Zelda remakes, and while some people don’t like the changes they made to Majora’s Mask, I actually do like the majority of them. That said, they did make changes and there were some I didn’t like. Luigi’s Mansion is like a childhood treasure to me and while I know it’s rediculous to expect every detail to be the same, it is a thought that will come up no matter how absurd I know it is.
So let me categorize my thoughts on what I did like changed, what I didn’t like, and just nitpicks. I’ll start with nitpicks.
My nitpicks with the game are as follows.
-I miss how Chauncey’s appearance timed with the music.
-They didn’t sync up Luigi’s “Mario!” to his animation, missed opportunity in my opinion
-Rooms seem like they’re lighter than the original
-Area doors don’t have vines anymore
-I don’t like how the camera zooms in whenever vines on doors do appear
-I miss the Pegasus statues in the gallery
-The portraits don’t fall into place when skipping through with the A button on the results screen, they just pop up.
Again, these are just nitpicks and I don’t hold any of these against the game. Hell, the only thing on this list I could debate being on the ‘things I don’t like’ list is the lighter rooms which I believe was something they did because the 3DS has a smaller screen and resolution, which would make things harder to see.
What I don’t like
-Several effects are worse
-The controls surrounding the C-stick are worse
-The Hidden Mansion isn’t flipped.
Both of these I blame entirely around the limitations of the 3DS and not Grezzo. Lighting effects and particle effects are going to be worse no matte what because the 3DS simply isn’t as strong as the GameCube. With controls, Luigi’s Mansion wasn’t designed with the 3DS’ button layout in mind, and because this game also has to be fully playable with original 3DS models, can’t depend on the Circle Pad Pro or the New 3DS C-stick.
With the Hidden Mansion not being flipped, that’s a legit gripe I have. I don’t get why they brought all the changes the PAL Hidden Mansion has, but didn’t flip it. It sucks, but the 3DS version has additions to the Hidden Mansion that makes up for the lack of it being flipped.
So, already most of my issues with this version stem from things that are nostalgia blindness and system necessities, which should show that this is an outstanding version of the game.
Changes I do like:
-Platinum Rank Portraits and S-Rank Mansion
-Achievemets to incentivise further replays
-Co-op
-Redesigned Gallery
-Replay any boss or portrait in the gallery
-Money stays in the world longer
-You can return to the lab from the foyer
-Hidden Mansion gives a 50% health boost to all ghosts
-Models are more detailed, despite the lower polycount and resolution
-Texture and colors are more vibrant
In conclusion, while I’ll always prefer the original because of how much more I prefer the atmosphere provided by the effects of the game and the bettter controls, the 3DS version has a ton of merit to stand on its own and is still an excellent and updated way to play a 17 year old game.
Don't know is this is the correct sub to post this, and it is quite long, so please notify me if I'm breaking any rule.
Hi there! I'm RockmanPeru, a peruvian Nintendo fan since a long time ago. Nowadays, all the games that I play are only on Nintendo consoles, and given that I've been gaming for a lot of time, I've adquired a lot of knowledge about Nintendo games, mainly retro ones (I'm 27 and I don't like modern games that much)
I've been thinking on creating, as a side project, a Youtube series strictely about old games, but I don't wish to do your average Let's Play- I've been wanting to do a documentary series about all the games I've played (and I've played A LOT of them) found on Nintendo consoles since the NES days, chronicling their creation, inspiration, development, launch, scope (some things like how many levels has the game, how hard it is, what's the story, why is this game famous, etc), trivia facts, easter eggs, releases and remakes (including my personal view on the absolute best version/remake) and more importantly, in which current platforms could you actually adquire the game and all it's different releases.
I wouldn't call it a review channel either given that my goal is to informate the viewers about things they didn't know of their favorite game. The series tentative name would be La Gran Biblioteca de Nintendo (The Great Library of Nintendo), as an alussion to my favorite childhood/young adult novel collection of literature here in Peru. Enterely focused on Nintendo games and games released on Nintendo consoles, I've already planned and wrote the script for some episodes about some of the more well known NES games such as Super Mario Bros., Metroid, Dragon Quest 3, Castlevania 3 and Contra.
What would make my channel different than similar sites/channels like HardcoreGaming101 or the GamingHistorian? Well, the main difference is that the channel would be in Latin American Spanish. As a peruvian myself my goal is precisely to bring that kind of content to my speaking language. At least in Perú, Nintendo is practically non-existent, but I know for a fact there are lots of fans here only that we usually don't meet outside the rare once-or-twice-a-year convention.
I gladly remember watching the "History of Super Smash Bros. series" made by CrappyCaptureDevice back then, which is my main inspiration for this project. Facts like Dragon Quest 3 practically changing the way games are released in Japan, or the whole Probotector deal with Contra are basically not as known in Spanish speaking languages as one may think, so I have some great content to work with. It would be lovely if I ever get some money from this, given that I'm fairly poor (literally working just to barely pay the bills here) but I'm doing this for my undying love to Nintendo instead of the cash.
I "mayyy" feature special episodes of "hidden gems" given that the average gaming community here in LatAm thinks that Nintendo is only Mario, Zelda and Pokemon. Titles such as Moon Crystal, Treasure of the Rudras and Astro Boy Omega Factor are among my favorites that come to mind that I think deserve a notable mention, but as if the series are only focused on popular games.
If all goes well, I could sub the series for you English speakers.
I await all of your comments, suggestions and criticisms. I'm all ears! Thanks for reading this long post.
We are Bottom Tier, a YouTube channel for a wide variety of stuff, but for right now, just gaming. We want to know your favorite local multiplayer games, so we can play them. We have been having a blast with Super Mario Party lately in our free time. Thanks for responding!
Found this pic on the brazilian mag Videogame from 1993. They say this thing was released only in Japan for educational purposes, not games, it isnt related to the cd that became the Playstation and they also dont have a name for this. Looked around and couldnt find any other info or mention of anything Apple for the SNES/Super Famicom and nothing on image search too. Does anyone know anything about this?

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is a space-themed action adventure game developed by Ubisoft Toronto, releasing October 16 2018. The game releases on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo switch (with switch-exclusive starfox missions, starfox & the arwing ship). The game is a Toys-to-Life franchise with the optional ability to connect physical ships, weapons and pilots in real-time. Unlike other T2L games, you can also purchase and play the full game digitally.

What can I do in the game and how long is it?
The game involves ship-based combat against legion forces across the Atlas galaxy.
From this Gamerant article talking about the length of the game:
The main campaign is that 20-25 hour experience. Because of the living world, The Legion will continue to fight back and The Alliance will continue to grow. The dynamic in the evolving world, you can keep playing with that for a long time and engaging in that system.
Of course, this is assuming gamers don’t get significantly sidetracked with the game’s side missions and end-game content, which involves aiding the fight against The Legion by having players construct and customize their own planetary outposts, a process which Rose says becomes a very deep metagame. Once the main campaign is finished, that doesn’t mean the credits roll and game is over, either. Rose says that the living world will continue, and players will be given new challenges as they go into the end game content of Starlink. To that end, Ubisoft will be supporting the game with post-launch content as well, which will include both free and paid DLC along with new real-life toys, which will, in turn, unlock in-game digital content.
From a Gamespot review:
I only got to play on the planet Sonatus, but it offered plenty to do. As I explored, I found puzzles to solve, resources to mine, animals to scan and identify, and Forgotten Legion forces to fight. The planets are also dotted with faction outposts, where you can run missions and build alliances that grant you useful upgrades and abilities. As I explored, I found an observatory belonging to the Expedition faction, made up of scientists studying the planet. Allying with them granted me access to their data, which cleared a large area of my map, giving me a better idea of my surroundings without having to explore every inch.
Of course we encourage you to check out gameplay vids from multiple sources once the embargo lifts, if you think you’re still on the fence about whether the gameplay is for you.
Co-op
Starlink features drop-in splitscreen co-op for 2 players. It’s not mission-based; a player can join you at any time. Friendly-fire is toggle-able.
Co-op can be played right out of the box with 1 player using a physical ship and the other using the digital version of that ship. Co-op mode on the switch is in docked-mode only.
Miscellaneous Helpful info:
My family got Wii Fit Christmas 2008, upgraded to Plus when that arrived, and we still weigh ourselves with it weekly today. Though we don't play the actual games and exercises much anymore, this means we've been playing for near a decade. (Probably the longest I've ever played one game) I was wondering if anyone else still plays Wii fit/ Wii fit plus.
