At the National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) last October, Xi not only declared that China 'has stood up, grown rich, and is becoming strong' and 'with an entirely new posture, now stands tall and firm in the East.' He also urged his rising country to 'stride forward at the forefront of the world' and 'take center stage' in the world. In many other statements and manifestations, Xi makes clear that the Middle Kingdom is determined to realize its 'Chinese Dream' to become a, if not the, leading global power - technologically, economically and militarily.
