Operators need to do a better job of keeping passengers advised. Also, “equipment problems” is an insufficient explanation. Riders deserve to get more information.

App/website isn’t showing any cars available. Tried multiple different cities. Some sort of bug?

Yeah totally, didn’t mean to suggest that a degree is the only way to do meaningful work in the field. I feel like I have learned some of this in school, but obviously planning programs writ large should be better at teaching these challenges.

Completely agree with this, but can’t help but feel this is somewhat at odds with the “fewer people should go to planning school” take, but that might just be my priors talking.

This, but as a Washingtonian in exile in the Bay Area, I’ve found that the whole “Cali chill” thing is pretty overblown, at least for NorCal.

Carson’s new interest in reversing local exclusionary zoning barriers is hard to take seriously. He let Westchester County off easy after its 9 year battle w/the federal gov’t pushing the county to remove such barriers.

Disappointed, but unfortunately not even a little surprised to see this from Anne Arundel County.

Yeah, that’s the season for the Nats right there. I’ll tune back in next April if they have a different manager.

Any examples you can point to of this being done elsewhere?

That’s not at all what I was saying, but you knew that. If you want office and commercial uses so badly at BART stations, how do you propose to do that if the market won’t support it? What is it exactly that you want BART to subsidize?

Yeah, in that scenario it would likely work.

I agree, but I’m skeptical of its viability without adding some more residents to the area. Depends on the exact uses though.
