	En réponse à @zinoman no, of course not. but that's the case with broadway shows too. so going by that standard, the prom shouldn't ever been greenlit for broadway to begin with and ben platt shouldn't have been the lead for DEH, and lin manuel shouldn't have been able to get ITH on stage.

	En réponse à @zinoman You're RYAN MURPHY. You do whatever you want! He wanted to make the movie version for a reason. Presumably one is he liked the performances. Again, this isn't just any old recasting. This is a case of recasting parts specifically written for the actors who played them on stage.

	En réponse à @SopanDeb on top of that, the prom musical started developing like SEVEN YEARS ago. after it finally makes it to broadway - where it was a strong production - and then say, “good work, let’s hand this musical to actors who don’t do a lot of theater” seems to be a slap in the face to me.

	uhhhhh. this is a weird move. the roles were originally written specifically for the quartet that played the roles (beth leavel, chris seiber etc). they essentially play caricatures of themselves. why give their parts away? twitter.com/deadline/statu…
