"...99% of neighborhoods in the US, black boys earn less in adulthood than white boys who come from similar socioeconomic backgrounds. This undermines the widely-held belief that class, not race, is the most fundamental predictor of economic outcomes for US (kids)" #socialjustice twitter.com/NPRCodeSwitch/…

Next hour @npratc another heartbreaking American story from
@AskLeezul | Black boys raised in America, even in the wealthiest families, still earn less as adults than white boys with similar backgrounds. npr.org/2018/03/19/595… I'm not surprised, but are you? @WNYC

This nostalgia for Proper Gender Roles is always ahistorical BS, but especially this. At no point in American history were Black women not laboring “outside the home.” They worked as enslaved people, they worked as domestics in white folx’ homes, they had side hustles. twitter.com/etherealkia/st…

Women can speak up, have good ideas, but it’s still a man most will default to as the “leader.” Looking forward to studies that look at both race and gender. Let’s go social scientists!!!
