Marr and others need to start calling No10 out on these pre records. Live interviews are part of being Prime Minister. Pre rec means she doesn’t have to react to any breaking story or the papers. The BBC should start saying “Sorry it’s live or no interview - we’ll get Corbyn in.”

Gosh. Dominic Grieve makes crystal clear he and rebels are willing to vote against gvt next week over meaningful vote & realises it could topple TMay. Says: "We could collapse the gvt and I assure you - I wake up in a cold sweat at 2am thinking about it". Via

Lead pro-EU Tory Dominic Grieve says the negotiation btwn gvt & rebels last week over meaningful vote was "valueless" and might as well not have happened after gvt changed terms of compromise afterwards. Called new gvt amendment "valueless" too. via

Our briefing sets out reform proposals past; Often argued that ‘abolish and replace’ with an elected house - but one that retained existing powers - would be more likely to defeat govt than current appointed one.

Sure Marr will have given May a tough time but think i/v will be her 3rd pre-record in a row. Part of the challenge is being live on a Sunday with the uncertainty of responding to the Papers & for someone who seems to want to avoid scrutiny it looks shifty & safety 1st

Love and thoughts to all the family and friends of Jo Cox today. As she said in her maiden speech: “We are far more united and have far more in common with each other than things that divide us.” ❤️

The Remainer Rebels accuse of turning them over. “DD threw his toys out at last moment so an amendment not agreed with Dominic was laid” says one. They plot their revenge

There is no attempt here to overturn the referendum or to micromanage the negotiations simply that the majority of MPs will not support a cliff-edge no-deal Brexit & will insist on a meaningful vote

Not sure if govt realised rebels had tabled Grieve amendment in Lords before compromise emerged - might end up with precisely same amendment back in Commons next Weds after a massive loss of trust

Dominic Grieve is saying government reneged on what had been agreed this morning. These are the people who are negotiating for UK with the EU. Their approach appears to be say anything to get through immediate crisis and ignore consequences of broken promises later.

PM has gone back on her word. Govt amendment takes the meaning out of a meaningful vote. Parliament should reject it.

Theresa May repeatedly promised no General Election. On Tues she told Tory MPs she’d give them a meaningful vote. It’s clear that the Prime Minister’s word counts for nothing. It’s clear she won’t give Parliament a say and the only people she won’t upset are the ERG.
