Holy smokes, astronaut school is in full swing. This week's super cool schedule includes spacewalk training, a "paper sim" to support a real spacewalk, systems classes, prep for testing, and some T-38 flying. Glad I got some sleep. And a new backpack.

Soft landing needed....Shortly before landing, the drops the heat shield that protected us from re-entry heating. This exposes airbags which inflate to cushion the final touchdown. This is how we drop-test it. Our engineers are awesome!
