Great report and will help what we are doing in Greater Manchester by strengthening resolve. Two points: 1) Chop out the word encourage and insert enable. It’s a very important distinction. 2) Go further and recommend reconfiguring existing local roads to create networks. 👍👏

The Dutch have calculated the benefit/cost to society of different travel modes per urban km travelled. I converted it to £ and miles. Cycling +98p Driving -54p Bus -42p how close are these to UK figures? Can we get them published?

By governments own (very conservative) numbers investment in cycling infrastructure pays back at 5:1 making it the most cost effective transport investment of all modes. ~30% of all car journeys less than 1km & ~60%+ less than 5 miles! It makes sense to ensure alternatives to 🚗
