Bottom line:
Trump had two years of total Republican control of Congress and couldn’t get his wall built.
He waits until he gets his clock cleaned in the midterms, loses control of Congress, to draw his line in the sand.
It just doesn’t get more stupid than that.

It's infuriating, but here's where we are:
McConnell won't call a vote on the House-passed bills to reopen the government because he knows they will pass the Senate too. And Republicans' #1 priority isn't ending the shutdown, it's staying on Trump's good side.
