93 years later. ’s Tyne Cot, shown on an original 1925 postcard. As seen on the postcard, the North Pavilion is not yet completed. Odd to think that Tyne Cot has stood near identical for 90+ years, a testament to the horrors of the First WW, and then a witness to the Second.

Six weeks before Corporal John McNamara, VC was KIA, an action of ‘conspicuous bravery, initiative & devotion to duty’ saw him awarded the Victoria Cross. He never saw the award - being killed 100 years ago. John is today's casualty:

Our brilliant colleagues in War Cemetery. The site looks absolutely stunning today and standards are high. Thank you team. Next month however the annual heavy rains & flooding will come and our staff will work tirelessly to restore the site to normal

The bouquet carried by Princess Eugenie at the yesterday has been sent to rest on the Grave of the Unknown Warrior here at Westminster Abbey. This royal wedding tradition was started by The Queen Mother and remembers fallen soldiers. 💐

Moving visit w my family today to Hooge Crater cemetery nr Ypres to see where my great uncle L Cpl Cecil Chapman is buried - KIA 1 Oct 1918, 6 weeks before the of the war, aged 19. My first visit. Such a beautiful, well-tended place. Thank you for the amazing work you do

Hello Jessica, thank you for your message. A rededication service takes place when the grave of a serviceman or woman has been identified - like those above. Previously the graves would've been Unknown Soldiers with their names being listed on a memorial. Thanks, CWGC.
