What I learned reading this is that pretty much the only person who thinks Congress is working well is Mitch McConnell.

I also think it’s tough. When POTUS says he’s going to send 15K troops, kitted up for Fallujah, to the border for a questionable threat, that’s news. To many it looks as if he’s using the military as a partisan tool. That’s v troubling. How do we ignore?

Whatever you think of Trump’s response to it, the caravan is news. We have never seen a single group 7,000+ migrants traveling like that, on foot, breaking through border gates, followed by subsequent caravan groups. And at a time when record numbers of families are crossing.

Just spoke with Oaxaca state police and a top human rights official in Mexico. Both —Abel García &Edgar Corza Sosa—said the caravan is NOT filled with dangerous people as said. But they are concerned, because ipeople are weak, exhausted & w/o buses, taking risks

Good morning. The has now been on the march for three weeks. Here’s a quick update from last night, when I spoke to several members after Trump warned he wanted soldiers to shoot them if the migrants threw rocks.

How hate crime has changed in America: It’s now more violent. It’s now committed by older people. It’s now a violent defense against changes in the country. How it’s stayed the same: Still committed by white men.

I can’t recall ever having enjoyed reading an obituary as much as this one, if nothing else but for the fact that it enters the phrase “chief leg-breaker” into the lexicon.

Just looking at the online calendar for Tree of Life. They have a Shabbat service for kids every Saturday. Yesterday was the only time this month it was postponed because one of the children had a conflict, the rabbi told me. Otherwise, the place would have been full of kids.
