Nona Willis Aronowitz’s Tweets

I wrote for @washingtonpost @BookWorld about recent nonfiction that tackles why people tolerate bad consensual sex and also what happens when people don’t want to have sex at all washingtonpost.com/books/2023/05/

"My jealousy is actually less now than it was before, even though I have less desire to get with other people at this moment." An absolute pleasure to talk to @nona about Bad Sex, non-monogamy after kids, & (ofc) childcare. sarafredman.substack.com/p/i-put-a-lot-

like the discrimination is the problem, not children’s bodies! imagine if experts recommended skin lightening creams to black ppl in order to fight racism or widespread botox for old people to fight ageism. huh???

I talked about growing up in a cloud of Cosmo orgasm supremacy, the pros and cons of nonmonogamy, the cost of freedom, and how emotional desires are socially constructed too, with and for NYT’s The Argument

This extremely good piece is ostensibly about sleep training but it’s also about how breastfeeding (and by extension night wakings/feedings) will completely destroy your egalitarian partnership if you let it

"If you let your baby cry it out maybe you aren't ready for kids. #thankyouforcomingtomytedtalk" I wrote for @NYMag about how the age-old sleep training debate has entered a new, very online phase (1/ thecut.com/2022/09/sleep-

this is an extremely thoughtful review of Bad Sex in which showcases the chapter I feel most proud of, on heteropessimism:
