    Matt is a trained public speaker with hundreds of talks over the years. So this comment was irresponsible and unjustified, and reflects on areas like a11y and privacy in the WordPress project as a whole. Leadership should take these extremely seriously.

    Of the 17 talks I gave on a11y and privacy this year, 8 were when I was living in a homeless unit. I never let it define me or get in my way. That's because they are more important than me, and they matter. If you care about them too, don't let anyone ever tell you they don't.

    Seriously, I want to be giving more designers commit access. If your company wants to help WordPress grow, the best way to do it is to sponsor designers, rather than just developers.

    "Does anyone actually care about responsive images", asks . Yes. Uses on mobile. Users on data connections. Search engines. Users on large screens. Users who don't want to download 10mb of images. Embarrassing for 5.0 to have shipped with broken image support.

    Some decisions *have* to be made by small groups. That’s how projects move forward. But open communication has to be commensurate to the gravity of the decision.

    Gutenberg was developed in public, but too many decisions were made in silos and not clearly communicated. This can be improved for 5.1 and beyond
