    Rolled oats porridge : 1 cupful rolled oats; 2 cupfuls boiling water; pinch salt. Add salt to boiling water then sprinkle in oats, stirring well. Boil for c20mins, adding water if too thick. (Adapted from Win-the-War-Cookery Book: 1917)
