This Sunday night is the second of Sivan, the yartzeit for my family members who perished shortly after their arrival to Auschwitz. I didn't expect that this week I would also have to publicly defend my father's name and life's work.

What a fantastic story and interview! Towards the end of the interview Aaron discusses his uncle R. Erno Friedman. I learned about R. Friedman's sefarim thanks to yedidi Zalman Alpert's recommendation. He's a huge fan. Fascinating stuff!

This past summer I saw the incredible painting in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, of the Tosfos Yom Tov Rabbi Yom-Tov Lipman Heller Painted by Samuel Dirksz van Hoogstraten a student of Rembrandt. This was during his imprisonment for protecting his brethren in Prague.
