My sole encounter with the great Wim Wenders was riding in a taxi with him in NY back in the 80s. The upbeat disco song “Love is in the Air” was playing. Wenders looked at us, 2 eager young filmmaking aspirants, and in his lugubrious Teutonic accent said, “Not very true, is it?”
