    I’m confused. I am not from here therefore, I took a car service. I had zero control over what kind of car they sent to pick me up. Regardless, does my means of transportation to get to the detention center undermine the devastation I witnessed? Should I have had a flip phone? 💔

    I still can't get over showing up in a chauffeured luxury car with her smartphone to visit poor migrant children. That's just peak 2019 Hollywood "activism." I wonder if she brought enough avocado toast and LaCroix for the planned photo-op.

    Strong point. Fear of “others” is a commodity here now. All over actually. But it makes less sense here. We are the melting pot. We can’t tolerate talk that threatens to melt the pot.

    I remember Elian and the Cubans and Haitians as well. You’re right, we were better then. But we also saw ourselves differently in relation to the rest of the world. We didn’t fear it, like we do now. I’m just trying to figure out what’s changed.

    I lost my youngest brother 36 years to suicide. I have also 3 more siblings ,recently 1 month ago my 51 year old sister who was my only sister. We were 7 children, 5 boys 2 girls . I am losing my mind. I need help !

    Thank you for sharing. I, too, see a therapist (first after the lost of my father/best friend, now again after mom). The therapy and anti-depressants combined "lift the cloud," - allowing me to function, process through, and get better every day. I appreciate you.

    Hey . I doubt you’ll see this, but I really appreciate what you said about therapy. It was and still is the best relief to some of the struggles I have going on upstairs. I’m not embarrassed to say it anymore. It’s been absolutely life saving. Cheers, CC.
