    Perhaps I'll be proven wrong tomorrow, but it seems like pure fantasy that progressive challengers will beat well entrenched incumbents in NYC districts that Clinton easily beat Sanders in. The electorates will be old/well-educated tomorrow.

    I remember Engel hustling Avi Weiss for votes in 06... He won that primary with *83*% of the vote. Just cause Eliot is spending or working his butt off doesn't mean he's in any real danger. You're either running unopposed or scared. Engel runs scared.

    I don't know who my Father ultimately voted in that Seabrook challenge. My guess is he voted for Engel, but needless to say they gerrymandered that district good after 2000. Engel's district took on an odd shape to lessen change of a primary from a minority candidate.

    Engel has been facing primaries for as long as I can remember... It started with Biaggi looking to reclaim his old seat. It continued with Flagg hammering him for his pro-Iraq war vote. Only one to come close was Seabrook in 2000.

    How many votes will it take to win NY-11 GOP primary? I wouldn't be shocked if the winner has 9,000 votes. I don't think it'll be that low, but it very well could be. Turnout is going to be very low.

    I'll also note that I interviewed Grimm (see the video in the piece), and he told me that he welcomes a pardon from President Trump... though he says there has been no talk of such a pardon.
