    “I'm a film and media studies major, a trombone player, a student employment intern and I’m a Whittie.” Senior Lukas Koester graduates in May with a degree in film and media studies. The first time Lukas visited campus he knew Whitman was a place he could call home.

    Whitties have been joining the Peace Corps since it was founded 1961. This summer is no different as Hannah Ferguson ‘19 and Shannon Zander ‘19 will be serving in Ukraine and South Africa, respectively.

    Pacific Trio formed while Eve Goldman '18, Chloé Sarkissian '18 and Molly Evered '18 were at Whitman. Today they released their first EP and tomorrow they are celebrating with a release party in Portland.

    Let's count the ways John, an ag Volunteer, has made a difference in Tanzania! He built 60 beehives, planted 1000 avocado & 500 apple trees, trained 20 women to keep pigs, built 20 pig pens, and purchased 20 piglets for breeding. He's also a alum!

    "I am absolutely honored beyond belief." Thanks to a $30,000 grant from the Thomas J. Watson Foundation, Cello Lockwood '19 will spend next year studying the ways that different cultures interact with horses.
