4. The shooter wanted to inspire others to do the same. No news network should dive into his trouble childhood or any bullshit like that to garner sympathy for him. We need to deplatform those who inspired him + other white nationalist terrorists.

3. The shooter sprinkled Christian texts throughout this manifesto. It’s on the church and Christians to denounce his use of their scripture + to confront anyone else attempting to use their text to oppress (a tall order, but worth asking anyway).

2. The shooter was clearly a white nationalist who held Jews responsible for white genocide but also hated Muslims, immigrants, + POCs immensely. We need to stop isolating analyses of antisemitism from other forms of bigotry caused by white supremacy/nationalism.

1. There’s a lot of internet lingo + 4chan vocab spread throughout the doc. We need to stop viewing the internet and the real world as two separate places and recognize how they seep into one another to radicalize people (for worse, but potentially, for better)

I decided to read the synagogue shooter’s manifesto yesterday which was a painful yet unfortunately unsurprising read. To save you from having to read that shit, here are my four major takeaways:

The #Poway shooter’s manifesto is classic white nationalism- claims Jews orchestrate mass immigration, feminism, race mixing for ‘genocide of European race’; cites Christian scripture, calls Jews Satanic. Let’s get clear- white Christian nationalism is the biggest threat to Jews.
