I'll be resuming The Happy Brain book tour in a few weeks, with some exciting (to me) new events, but in the interim you can get the book now. And should. Because it's brilliant. Admittedly, I'm not exactly objective here

There are good reasons why every monarch has come from an aristocratic family and not any working class ones. In fact, it's pretty much the exact same reason for the disparity highlighted here

Suspect not a single person who went to my large Birmingham comprehensive school would have made the same idiotic decisions as Cameron, Johnson and Rees-Mogg.

I was the science consultant on this show so if you disagree with any of it I will fight you, and I'll lose because I'm crap at fighting. I assume. Never tried. It'll probably be really funny to observe But I'll only fight you if you've seen the show first, so get your tickets

Am doing a last-minute (and very rare) stand up set at The Drones club at tonight, if anyone local is free and fancies observing such a peculiar occurrence

Hey, here's an idea; how about we stop uncritically reporting every guff of bullshit that is emitted by this soulless racism-powered gammandroid as if it actually means anything? Would that be too much of a challenge?

if you don't include any people who are intended to benefit from the use of the thing you're assessing, what is the value of a study assessing the benefit of the thing?

Issues with this study: a. online mechanism for assessment of this, not in person. b. trigger warnings are designed to assist those with ptsd to prepare to engage with material. Those with trauma symptoms were excluded from the study. So those intended to benefit not assessed.

I remember when Lidl were the perennial butt of jokes about how cheap and tacky they were. This 'force for good' approach is an excellent retort to that

Tell you what, for somebody who likes to portray himself as a tough guy, Yaxley-Lennon is whining like a stubbed cock about spending a few weeks in a Cat C prison, isn’t he? Suck it up, buttercup.
