    This morning on tv, a co-panelist and an 'expert' journalist said Congress will seal victory in Gujarat this afternoon. It is nauseating for journalists to look away from ground reality.

    IMO, the biggest loser in all this is the media. they need to figure their balance. And, i don't mean having a bias. i mean allowing that bias to overcome facts.

    I nominate "fringe" as the Indian English word of the year. It has really outdone itself. The range of meaning it now captures - from ruling party to official gau rakshaks to bloodthirsty crowds who can now capture a court complex in the middle of a city.
