  Emanuela Damiani works every day for the best browser experience at Firefox. She fell in love with the Web at a young age, and since then she has never stopped studying and learning it. In her career, she helped companies and organisation to innovate through design practices. Nowadays Emanuela is exploring design systems for complex, mutable environments, aim to enable everyone to understand and use design. In her spare time, she likes to watch kitten videos, and she never says no to a good cocktail.

  Matteo Cavucci is a tech consultant and design thinking practitioner. He helps knowledge-based organisations, including design-driven companies, to operate better in the 21st century. Coming from a liberal art background, he has a wide experience in leading high-performance teams across the research/design/development spectrum. His interests focus on researching a better way of foster effective communication and creating rapid feedback loops. He’s currently working as a senior consultant at ThoughtWorks, helping multidisciplinary teams to grow and practising agile fluency.

  Umar Hansa

  Umar is a front-end web developer at Springer Nature based in London, with a focus on writing tips, tutorials and documentation for the web platform. One of the projects he plans to explore and share with the community is using tooling such as the Chrome DevTools for an improved development workflow, but also for debugging performance issues.

  Alla Kholmatova

  Alla Kholmatova is a UX and interaction designer with a nine-year experience of working on the web, for a range of products and companies. Most recently she was a senior product designer at an open education platform, FutureLearn.

  She’s particularly interested in design systems, language, and collaborative ways of working. In the last two years this interest has led her to spend a huge amount of time working on and researching the subject.

  She’s been sharing her insights with people through articles, workshops, and projects. Alla contributes to design publications, such as A List Apart, and speaks at conferences around the world.

  Rachel Andrew is a front and back-end web developer, author and speaker. She has written several web development books, including chapters for two Smashing Books and is an A List Apart columnist, writing about the business of web development. She also writes about business and technology on her own site at rachelandrew.co.uk. In addition to offering consultancy services through the company she founded in 2001 – edgeofmyseat.com – Rachel is also one of the developers of the content management system, Perch.
