tl;dr: Reddit Gold is becoming a confusing microtransaction based system. Gilding via the "reddit is fun" app will be disabled until it is determined that the new system will work with the app.
Reddit Inc. has announced some upcoming changes to the Reddit Gold system. Unfortunately, they are taking a simple and popular system and making it more confusing.
Today it's straightforward: you pay $3.99 and give a post or comment a gold badge, and the recipient gets a month of gold benefits.
In the future, Reddit Inc. wants to turn it into a microtransaction system: you buy yourself a Premium monthly membership for $5.99 (note the price increase), which comes with "Coins" to gift to others. Instead of one standard Gold gift, Reddit has decided to split it into three different tiers of gifts, which you pay for with Coins: Silver (a badge), Gold (badge + Coins), and Super Gold (badge + a month of premium). The only tier where the recipient receives gold benefits is Super Gold at $5.99, equivalent to today's Gold at $3.99.
I have not received guidance from the Reddit admins about how all these changes will affect gilding via the "reddit is fun" gold bot, so gilding via the app is disabled until all the details are ironed out with the new Reddit Gold system. There is a possibility that gilding will remain disabled indefinitely, if the new Reddit Gold system is incompatible with the "reddit is fun" gilding setup.
(Gilding may remain enabled for the next few days so that I can release a proper update explaining the change. This will probably be in RIF version 4.10.2.)
Hi RiF,
How can I temporarily toggle the list of blocked subs on and off?
I had assumed that blocked sub reddits would be "linked" to the account that had blocked them at the time, so that if I was logged in, the subs would be blocked, and if I am logged out, it would be a normal Reddit r/all experience. Is this not the case?
Thanks in advance

Quarantined subs have long been a pain to opt into since there doesn't seem to be an option in this app, but it hasn't been a big deal since relatively few subs were given this status. With the new announcement an hour ago, it looks like far more subs will be quarantined. I'd like the ability to see these without logging into the awful desktop site.
It would be awesome to use basic keyboard shortcuts for navigation.
For first it would be enough to select the subreddits and posts with up / down keys and press enter to open the selected item.
The selection with the up down keys is already working, but enter is not. The reddit web ui also supports keyboard shortcuts, which we could implement.
My account is frequently logged out. I believe it is when the app is fully closed from the app manager.

This morning I was browsing on reddit is fun on android and noticed that NSFW images showing up instead of the standard shocked snoo.
4.10.6
Note 8.
Android 8.
Noticed it this morning.
Tried changing reddit preference ticked sfw thumbnail. but nothing changed. then unchecked it.
Closed, opened the app, nothing changed. Looked in settings but aside from filtering NSFW content I didn't notice another setting. I don't want to remove them. just don't want thumb shown.
Just went to submit an image for a post and the default directory is the private folder for RiF. I can't see an obvious way to change the default. RiF isn't really respecting the .nomedia in this instance.
Is this something we can get a setting for?
I've noticed that rif loads a pretty low quality version of gfycat videos, even though the source is available at 1080p60. Maybe an option to enable HD gfycat video depending on the network you're using (different options for Wi-Fi and 4G, for example) would be good.
Sync has it so that you can swipe to the right to close the post you are reading. Thats the only thing im missing right now.
It's great you can quickly reverse if you've band the wrong person, but it would be tremendously helpful if it were more accessible than a pop-up that only comes with banning.

I want to use Chrome Custom view in the settings instead of the old Web view.
However since it loads Chrome in the app, it has a light nav bar matching Chrome now instead of the black one I have with my dark RiF theme at night.
Until Chrome gives us a way to do that is there any way to load the app but keep the nav bar like before?
Also id love automatic night mode at night so I don't have to switch!
I hope this is the right place to pose this question but it seems that flairs are not displaying correctly on my reddit is fun app. This has been going on for some time now and I can't seem to fix it. Just need some feedback to know if it is normal or not. Please see the screen shot of what appears for me.
Edit: Just realized I need to provide some more info...

So if I go to r/funny 39 of the first 40 posts are images but cards view style doesn't activate. Is it just because of the top post being a sticky? Can we lower the threshold on this a bit so I can get cards mode?
Every once in a while it will trigger cards mode so seems to be working, just like to see it much more often.

It's a little frustrating the way it's designed now. If I am searching for a specific word it'll highlight the entire post or comment. If it's a particularly long post it takes a while to figure out where in the post your searched word is. If it could highlight the actually word/phrase we search for (i.e. Google chrome) it would be a much better system. Not sure if it's possible, just a suggestion.
Did something change on this app? Whenever I sort by popular I get random subs ive never seen before. Posts with 200 upvotes from weird subs are on my front page.
It takes messing with and clicking random things to finally get back to the normal front page of popular
Whenever a specific sorting method for comments is suggested, no matter what I change the sort method by, it always stays on the suggested way. For example if I go to a thread and it says "New (suggested)" even when I try to change the sorting mode to top, it doesn't actually change.
