Wow. In its post about today's #MH17 findings, Russian state TV completely skips the main one, that the missile was brought into Ukraine by the Russian military. Instead it quotes Donetsk rebels saying it's "impossible" to determine who owned the missile vesti.ru/doc.html?id=30…

The FCO has confirmed the prank call with Johnson is genuine and sound pissed off: “The use of chemical weapons in Salisbury and Syria, and recent events in Armenia are serious matters. These childish actions show the lack of seriousness of the caller and those behind him.”

Weirdly, Johnson sounds way more composed on much of the call than he often does publicly. Nothing too embarrassing there. Though the fact that they managed to get through and hold an 18 min conversation is pretty shocking, even assuming that they had FSB help.

Having seen the carnage first hand, spoken to people who'd seen the BUK go by, and then listened to months/years of different lies about it, the whole MH17 episode was pretty sickening. Hope the Dutch manage to get incontrovertible evidence and bring it to court.

So, to summarise what we already knew: a Russian army missile system shot down a passenger plane, killed 298 people, and the Russian authorities then told a series of ludicrous lies about it for four years.

Dutch prosecutors say they have gathered "legal and convincing evidence which will stand in a courtroom" that the BUK that shot down MH17 came from the 53rd anti-aircraft brigade stationed in Kursk, and part of the Russian regular army (as previously reported by @bellingcat)
