The website has been down this evening for a while. Not even the cute "bad panda" placeholder appears - it's just not loading at all. The app is still working, at any rate.

I appreciate that, although I've got more than enough cameras to pick from for the trip. :) The Yashica was one of my favorites, though.

If my Yashica hadn't bitten the dust this afternoon, this was going to be my first photo of the roll.

On the plus side, now that my Yashica is broken I have one less camera to contemplate taking with me to New England next month.

Maybe so. It'll have to wait a while, as I don't have the cash reserves to afford what a working replacement would run me. At least I still have the Bronica. I just hope that doesn't go kaput on me anytime soon!

As some of the commenters mention, this might work for an organization that uses standard COTS software, but for companies with a lot of home-grown software in use, it could create a lot of issues. Then you have entities like the DOE, who will never cede that level of control.

I don't know if there's anyone in my area who works on them, but I'm guessing not. Mark is really good, but it won't be that cheap. And it'll be at least a couple of months.

It was on M. And the shutter speed knob is now harder to turn. I think my Yashica is now a bookend. I've already had Mark Hama do a CLA. I don't have the heart to send it in again.

Microsoft offers to control all of your hardware and software, and your company can finally terminate all those useless nerds running the machinery now... What could possibly go wrong?

Maybe so. I'm not sure. Whatever I did, it doesn't feel like it's quite cocking, and the shutter butter presses in uselessly. Somebody suggested trying to timer. Now that's stuck on.

It turns out I was right - there was a roll of FP4 in my Yashica 635, but I think I broke it. I must have cocked it previously, then changed the aperture. The shutter won't fire. :(
