I literally cannot imagine dealing with this level of toxicity every day. I cannot imagine being told to leave my home, my community, the place I live and love and work to improve. I cannot imagine having horrific lies and smears leveled against me, my personal life, my family.

Today I welcomed my congressperson and friend Ilhan Omar home to Mpls, and told her the simple truth that I love her and have her back. She tweeted back a heart.
This exchange gave me a tiny whiff of the racist right-wing lunacy that folks like Ilhan deal with every day.
