Today I visited in Richmond. The shutdown has been distressing & harmful to so many. I'm inspired by the work Feed More is doing & the way people have come together to support others in their community who are hurting. To volunteer:

Federal employees in Central Virginia and across the country have experienced severe financial pain at the hands of hyper-partisanship, and these public servants deserve much better from their elected officials. (4/4)

Since the shutdown began, I have repeatedly voted for bipartisan funding bills that would restore the function of critical departments and agencies. I’ve pushed for bipartisan discussions, and today I am encouraged by signs that good-faith conversations are moving forward. (3/4)

While facing her own challenges caused by the shutdown, Donna didn’t hide – she stepped up to serve others impacted by the shutdown. I am inspired by her courage, and I was proud to help share her powerful story on the floor of the U.S. House.

This is an issue I’ve heard about from many furloughed workers, who fear that severe consequences from the shutdown could persist even after it ends. and I are working to keep that from happening.

Many hardworking Americans live paycheck to paycheck & are about to miss their second paycheck in a row. If the hardships facing people in my district & across the country are unclear to Sec. Ross, I would be happy to share the stories we are hearing from Central Virginians.
