These women defected from North Korea, only to be sold into China as cybersex slaves. They were imprisoned, beaten, and forced to work without pay for seven years.
This is how they escaped.

The Chinese authorities blocked the @CNN website ahead of June 4, but it's now once again fully accessible from China. It's rare for a website to get blocked and then unblocked, especially when the China page is still covered in Tiananmen reporting en.greatfire.org/https/www.cnn.… twitter.com/jgriffiths/sta…

The government is destroying mosques across Xinjiang, another blow to ethnic minority Muslims’ faith in the heavily policed state. We visited half a dozen spots and found empty public spaces.

Would respectfully point to my latest reply to your last tweet, and perhaps we leave it there. My email is [email protected] — would love to hear any further insights you have as I think we both agree Xinjiang and what’s happening there should be discussed as often as possible

I recognize your concern is about his safety, and we would never jeopardize that. But the fact is that if you go to Xinjiang, you will interact with Uyghurs at some point, whether you approach them for an interview or not. The only alternative is to not make a trip.

Thanks, and respectfully, I disagree. The gentlemen approached us, asked what we were doing there, we responded and asked him a question. I’m curious what your experiences on the ground in Xinjiang recently have been like.

AFP: I’m still staggered by the power of this warrant. It allows the AFP to “add, copy, delete or alter” material in the ABC’s computers. All Australians, please think about that: as of this moment, the AFP has the power to delete material in the ABC’s computers. Australia 2019.

And finally, we did multiple pieces about Xinjiang. You chose the one where we highlight our surveillance because of its editorial relevance. I’d encourage you to watch the others where we got well within 500 meters of a front gate. Here’s one of them. edition-m.cnn.com/2019/05/08/asi…

Two, we’ve done a couple stories where we get followed by PSB. Because they’re massively important. We don’t seek out PSB. They make our job harder. But if they happen to be where the story is, so be it. Them following us helps illustrates broader points about surveillance.

Hey thanks for the tweets. A few points. One, we were talking about what happened at the intersection during multiple live hits. One short clip shown here doesn’t make an entire day’s coverage.
