Friedman is supposed to represent all Americans to all Israelis. Taking partisan pot-shots at Democrats is inappropriate. Notice in the photo that he put his name on the embassy plaque too even though Ivanka and Jared did the dedication.

3.If Gaza war breaks out and should aim to convince Hamas to choose between feeding Gazans and fighting Israel. If it’s willing to abandon offensive intentions in a verifiable way Egypt and Israel should lift the siege and reconstruction should proceed.

2.Regime change in Gaza is fraught: will cause huge loss of Palestinian lives, high IDF casualties, will suck Israel back into controlling Gaza, ruin its budding relations w the Sunni world, and then who will Israel withdraw in favor of?

1. is right. Hamas has failed the Palestinians it rules. But does the Trump Administration seek regime change? Does Israel? If God forbid a full war breaks out they need to agree on the objective otherwise a return to the status quo will only do more harm to Gazans

Senior Israeli official quoted in Israeli press today: “Assad was and remains a monster who massacres his own people, but that is a matter for the international community and for the Arab states. We can’t fix the world. Israel has to look out for its own security.”

Assad is offering a deal with the near devil to get rid of the far devil: I’ll get the Iranians to pull back from the Golan if Israel accepts my rule there (including control of Dara’a where the revolt against Assad began).

Trump’s North Korea reversal will lower the chances for successful diplomacy, strain alliances, harm U.S. credibility, increase tensions and make peace and security harder to achieve.

Trump supporters yesterday: Trump’s amazing! No other president could have pulled off a summit with Kim Jong Un. Trump supporters today: Trump’s amazing! No other president could have cancelled a summit with Kim Jong Un.

Israel gets to keep half the West Bank, all of the Old City, all of the settlements and the refugees get compensation. Couldn’t possibly be Trump’s plan. It’s too pro-Palestinian.

Very significant: The military bill just passed by the House includes a definitive statement that the president does not have Congress' authorization for the use of military force against Iran

Sadr is anti-American and anti-Iranian. But his first foreign meeting was with the Saudi Crown Prince.

Meanwhile in Iraq, Sadr and Abadi are working on a non-sectarian, nonaligned, national unity, technocratic government focused on fighting corruption!

Is Trump the "most pro-Israel president in US history"? Hardly. He is hurting Israel by increasing the Iranian threat and politicizing the U.S.-Israel alliance. My column:

The letter reads like it’s written by a drunken, jilted lover, pleading and threatening for another chance. It’s bizarre and embarrassing.

Khamenei sets terms as unrealistic as Trump’s for EU to keep Tehran in nuclear deal and threatens to restart nuclear program if they’re not met. Trump lit the fuse; Khamenei is fanning it. Just as well things are going so well with Kim! via

Good interview of US Ambo Friedman by in new Jerusalem office. Friedman claims: 1. Politics had nothing to do with the decision to move the Embassy 🤥; 2. Kushner peace plan is months away from presentation🤔; 3. Israel isn’t bothered by lack of US support in Syria😉.
