Presidential races are jokes.
“Lessig suspended his presidential campaign on Nov. 2, 2015.... He cited his inability to get one per cent support in the polls and being unrepresented in the debates.... In an essay in the New York Times he further discussed the DNC's change of the one per cent rule from "within six weeks" to "earlier than six weeks" to a "five-week period (that) just happened to be crafted to exclude the third poll finding me at one per cent".”

When there's someone you think might have information to give you, but you don't trust them not sharing any info you give them in confidence, but you're not sure how else to build trust than by first making yourself vulnerable....

What is the long-term goal of Kn-X?
To speed up the rate of scientific progress by roughly a factor of 10.
Also, the examples are... I don't know the right word, but disturbing is one I could use: https://www.kn-x.com/?example=cab_ride
The FAQ is humorous. But the website overall, especially the examples you note, is pretty weird. I think I'm going to read the short paper they linked to instead of trying to understand from the website.

I suspect Martin Michlmayr made contributions since last I pulled. Surprised there isn't a @[email protected]. Anyway I suppose @bkuhn should put up his copy somewhere as the canonical one.
tbm is more in charge than I am these days, and his personal copy is more up-to-date. I talked with tbm about it today, and we're either going to put the definitive version on the public Gitlab or Github for now, for lack of a better place at the moment.

To be clear, I also drink sometimes (twice/month now, drank more than my share in college/grad school), but ...
But so many of our cultural bonding events heavily incorporate over drinking; most sports, most music, most festivals, etc.
Both the double standard with other drugs and me feeling left out (now) are what bother me.
Meanwhile...
