Software Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

If you are a nodeJS or iOS/Android hacker and passionate about developer communities, this is an exciting opportunity for you to blend engineering and developer evangelism skills. As the ideal candidate, you will be able to engineer solutions involving the entire development stack from Mobile SDKs and RESTful API front-ends to the database.

Responsibilities

Build developer tools, widgets and interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Work with latest technologies like Node.js/Express/React.

Design, implement, and test new features to scale Yahoo as a platform for mobile developers.

Create opportunities to represent Yahoo to the developer community.

Help product engineering teams improve developer products by conveying. feedback from developers and reviewing API/SDK designs.

Requirements

Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field; Master's a plus.

Strong experience with iPhone or Android development.

Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Node.js.

A passion for helping developers build great things.

A strong sense of what makes a great developer experience.

Experience with open source projects is a plus.

 

Developer Advocate - Yahoo Mobile Developer Platform

Location: San Francisco or New York

We are looking for an enthusiastic Mobile Engineer equally excited about technology, exploring new tools and platforms, and sharing knowledge with the world. You are comfortable interacting with developers representing large companies and individual developers while helping them build great experiences and integrate Yahoo services in their apps. You are the connector of the Yahoo product, business and engineering teams to the developer community that surrounds us.

Responsibilities

Work directly with developers to help them write and deploy their applications using Yahoo services

Design, scope, and implement internal apps and tools designed to scale Yahoo Mobile Developer platform

Work closely with the Business Development team to manage relationships with key developers

Troubleshoot production systems in response to developer's issues

Translate the feedback received from interactions with developers into actionable product insight

Represent Yahoo to the developer community through attendance and participation at industry conferences and meet-ups

Requirements

Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field; Master's a plus

High proficiency with developing apps for iOS, Android or both and hands on experience with REST APIs

Hands on experience with HTML, CSS, JS

Experience building highly scalable and reliable server-side applications
