While waiting to check off my last (planned) annual adulting TODO of the year, I ended up having to listen to country music and now the cold yesterday-coffee sounds delightful.

Optimize for self-growth, avoid the consistency-trap. :)

The consistency part is essential for their "brand", they think. What has been much more illuminating for me over the last twenty years of attempting to "adult" is being wrong (accepting it) means you get to grow more & learn so many new things (about yourself and human nature).

Some people work very hard to be perceived as wholly consistent on a message (pretty much everyone has this problem to at least a small degree) such that when presented with evidence to the contrary they double down. I had to mute two accounts in my TL after many examples.

We also Nixified our deployments which helps dramatically too, but previously X (a leading convergent configuration tool) was used to generate application configs to environments... Just that alone caused so much pain. Dhall helps here for environment consistency.

I cannot tell you how much pain and suffering occurred before this. Run-time convergent configuration tool errors, anyone?

We use Dhall to check applications we deploy have the same attributes (& right types for each attribute) across our deployed environments. Anyone using Haskell or similar to describe PII data fields in schemas on the type-level to help manage sensitive data? It's not *difficult* to work on a data generic API for our needs, just effort bound and if there was anything out there already... :) PS I am also lazy.
