I recently shared the community needs and potential strategies for evolving community governance, which resulted from the Community Discussions we held in person and online throughout April and May. You can find the webinar recording and written transcript, as well as the meeting minutes from all Community Discussions, at https://www.drupal.org/community/discussions.
This blog includes two statements. One from Dries Buytaert, as Drupal Project Lead, and another from Megan Sanicki, as the Executive Director of the Drupal Association and the Drupal Association Board.
We recognize that events and conversations earlier this year surfaced many concerns and needs within the community. One in particular is related to Larry Garfield’s role within Drupal. After several conversations with Larry, and careful consideration, we can now provide an update to this situation, our decisions, and Larry’s role moving forward.
We are excited to share the news that we have a new addition to the Drupal Association team - thanks to Srijan.
Last year, we announced the reduction of our team size in order to make the Drupal Association more sustainable. In response, Srijan, a long time Drupal Association Supporter, hired Piyush Jain to work on marketing initiatives and has donated 100% of his time to the Drupal Association.

We're providing personalized certificates of membership to individual and organization members who join or renew during the campaign and we need your help spreading the word.
The goal was to find a partner to manage the underlying infrastructure so that the Drupal Association Engineering team can focus on work that directly serves our mission.

As part of the Drupal Association Board's duty, board members met in April and approved the Q4 2016 financial statements. Now, we are able to share them with the community to provide transparency and clarity. You can find the financial statements here, which include the Income Statement and Balance Sheet for each month.
Remember how we are making changes to DrupalCon Europe? These were hard decisions and some things we love we found just weren’t financially viable. Like free t-shirts. But one thing we heard a lot was “please don’t take away the t-shirts!”
We heard you. And while it doesn’t make financial sense to give free t-shirts to all attendees, we still want to be able to continue to offer them. So we’ve come up with a plan.
To give more insight into Drupal Association financials, we are launching a blog series. This is the first one in the series and it is for all of you who love knowing the inner workings. It provides an overview of:
