The Girl With All The Gifts is in cinemas now and it's a must see film with unexpected bite. Box Office Buz had the opportunity to sit down with up and coming actor Fisayo Akinade to discuss the film and what it's like to work on a teen novel turned all out action horror.

Zombies? Infected? In The Girl With All The Gifts how do we refer to the plague that’s sweeping the world?
In the film the plague that has devastated the world is a new form of Ophiocordyceps unilateralis. It's a fungal infection which takes over host bodies, so not traditional zombies. We refer to the infected as hungries.
What makes them different from other zombies/infected?
Hungries have a dormant state. They only wake up when they sense fast movement or smell us, but once they do, they wont stop chasing, they never get tired and they're always hungry.
Were you aware of the novel when you signed up for project and how did you get the role?
I wasn't aware of the novel until I got the audition for the role. I told my friend I was going up for it and she told me it was her favourite book!... Read more
