The Avast SecureLine is a subscription based virtual private network (VPN) developed by Avast Software. It is available on Android, Microsoft Windows, macOS and iOS.[1]

Background[edit]

The premise of the software is to secure connection to public Wi-Fi systems to stop hackers getting into the user's computer.[2] Similar to other VPNs, SecureLine works by making the user appear in a different place via changing the users IP address, bypassing internet censorship for the country the user is in or Wi-Fi the user is using.[3] The VPN automatically enables when the user connects to a public Wi-Fi.[4]
