Today will be OMGreds last day.
No tears, no sadness, a little bit of joy, but mostly just time to retire. It’s been a blast. It really has. We’ll jam hard at Redsfest today on Twitter then we’ll ride off into the sunset tonight.

When Rob, Dave, Ronson, Paul and I fired the blog up back in January 2008, the plan was to chronicle just the 2008 season through our experiences. Ultimately, it grew into something much, much more, for which I am tremendously grateful for.

The Cincinnati Reds organization has been particularly kind to us and has given us many opportunities over the years to be a part of things in ways I never imagined. In particular, thank you to Michael Anderson, Lisa Braun, Jarrod Rollins, Amy and Chris Calo, Jon Cline, Jared Dvorsky, Charlie Frank and the Reds Community Fund, Jamey Ramsey and Better Off Red, Rob Butcher, Audra Sordyl, Karen Forgus, Phil Castellini, Kathryn Braun, Ellen Remley, Zach Bonkowski, Jansen Dell, Ralph Mitchell, Corey Hawthorne and the many others who we’ve interacted with over the years. The Reds Hall of Fame has been amazing as well. Thank you Rick Walls, Chris Eckes, Greg Rhodes, Megan Hewitt and all the staff and volunteers – It’s one of my favorite places.
A massive thank you to the Fugates and everyone at Sports Gallery. Thank you for sponsoring the blog and always taking care of us. It’s been a blast getting to know the entire Fugate family and I’m looking forward to hanging out for years to come.
Of course, a huge thank you to Rob, Dave, Ronson and Paul for being a part of this. Between the blog posts, illustrations, button designs, “planning sessions,” baseball road trips, baseball card rip sessions, Redsfest hangs and really, everything – Thank you guys. Looking forward to more adventures to come.
Most importantly, thank you to my wife, Gretchen and my boys Wes (OMGjr) and Sam (OMGIII). They were along for so many of my OMGreds adventures and really made it all happen. Thank you and I love you.
