Today's mass victory is in a case we started back in 2013 after blew the whistle. But it is NOT in the past. The Govt has replicated and expanded the powers we challenged here in the Investigatory Powers Act – which we're challenging in the High Court.

Today's judgment is a devastating loss for Govt. Their surveillance regime breached our rights + was not capable of limiting interference to what was necessary in a democratic society. Our legal challenge to the new regime + its similarly woeful protection of our rights continues

Today's European Court judgment is a major victory for everyone's rights and freedoms. It shows that there is – and should be – a limit to the extent that states can spy on their citizens.

The technical abilities of policing tools will increase over time. It doesn't follow that this tech has a place on our streets. Indiscriminate surveillance, the chilling effect on our society + collection of our deeply sensitive data continues - without law, debate or oversight.

Shouldn't judge lunch club so hard. Then you'd never have to decide again.

Our Govt rips families apart too. Just like in the USA, immigration detention here is indefinite. People have no idea when they’ll get out. Children don't know when they’ll see their mum or dad again. Help us end this now:

Every year the Home Office locks up 30,000 innocent people. Their detention is indefinite. The conditions are inhumane. Together we can put a time limit on immigration detention: use the toolkit to make it happen

To all of you interested in privacy/freedom of expression! Please support Ed in his challenge to lawless use of facial recognition by UK police forces - it scans everyone, stores your face, and is highly inaccurate and discriminatory. It needs to stop!

Police have used facial recognition surveillance on peaceful protesters, shoppers, football fans and Remembrance Sunday crowds - with no consultation, no democratic scrutiny and no regard for our rights. Please give what you can to help Ed challenge them.
