Not sure about watching, but the entire show is put out as a podcast the next day.

'Uge. Seems like the first time ESPN has brought a big name in in quite some time. They purged a bunch of memorable names over the last couple years. Interesting to see them back in the talent acquisition phase.

Because he's smart, hard working, and has led a pretty amazing life, all while (seemingly) remaining entirely down to earth. Kerr is a good dude to circlejerk about.

Silencing Elizabeth Warren backfires on Senate GOP by Ralphdraw3 in Political_Revolution

Every single Democrat senator should stand and read that letter today. Let the GOP silence all of them. When they get silenced, they should go stand on the stairs of the capital and read it again. Don't give in!

The Celtics and Cavaliers have both declined for a trade for Carmelo Anthony. The only one left is the Clippers. What is a trade that helps both teams? by pacgaming in nba

If CP3 gets injured, it's over for the Clippers tho.

No matter what moves the Clippers make or don't make, this will still be true.

Zach Lowe's 2017 NBA All-Star starters and reserves by akushdakyng in nba

[–]rickforking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think this is a really good point. The only reason I disagree is because All Star appearances actually effect the amount of money these guys can make. I personally think that should be eliminated as a factor in contracts, but as long as it is a factor, the most deserving guys should go.

I think it's impossible to argue that Sap is outplaying Embiid though while they're on the court.

Completely agree. Embiid has been remarkable. This discussion actually reminds me of when I used to work in restaurants.

Embiid is the charming, funny guy who everyone likes, and who is SO GOOD at their job that the manager KNOWS his shift will be just fine as long as he is there. But he calls out once a week and is late half the time he comes in.

Millsap though...he might not be brilliant, but he's still pretty fucking good and is ALWAYS there when you need him.

I'll pretty much always choose the second guy.

If you really think being on the court basically twice as much doesn't make a difference, I don't think anyone is changing your mind.

Millsap has played 1,428 minutes. Embiid has played 759. That shit matters

It was almost certainly part of the conditions with SNL to move past this. Not gonna judge someone for folding over a joke to keep her job.

[Pacers] Adam Silver during press conference: "I think it's highly likely we will return to Indiana for an All-Star game in the near future" by imkunu in nba

[–]rickforking 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I drove to Indiana last year to see the Pacers and Warriors play. I really can't overstate how impressed I was with the arena and the area around it.

The arena was really comfortable and had the modern fan amenities, but the brick and glass made it feel kinda historic, which basketball in Indiana is.

Downtown was laid out pretty sensibly. Lots of stuff around the arena, lots of parking within walking distance. Well lit.

Their downtown was clearly laid out with big events in mind. It's a pretty great city to visit.

Why does Blizzard forget that numbers like 50 and 25 exist when it comes to balancing tanks. by Mito20 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]rickforking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly think the wild swings are a design decision.

I've played WoW, SC2, HS, and OW extensively. WoW I've played off and on since launch. I honestly think it's an intentional design decision of Blizzard to have wild swings in which classes/heroes are overpowered and underpowered. They want people switching, trying everything, spending more time playing their games. They've never, ever tried nuanced balancing.

Basically, the wild swings in the meta are a feature, not a bug.

I feel like even if we tanked from here on out, we could still lose that pick.

Isn't it top 10 protected? If so, the Kings currently have the 11th worst record in the league, half a game ahead of 10th.

You'd easily save your pick if you dumped DMC and Gay for whatever you could get. Not saying you should, just saying...pick is still totally getable if you tried (or in this case, stopped trying)
