Do Northerners like or identify with Scottish people more than Londoners?
Genuine question from a non-UK person.
This is a TOTAL over-generalisation, but:
Culturally speaking, Northerners are more like the Scotts, in terms of what and how much they drink, how they socialise, the music they listen to, the type of jobs they are likely to have, and how affluent they are.
Politically, and in Sports teams, there is still a divide between Scotland and (all of) England.
When I first moved to Yorkshire from Essex I was always taken aback by other dog walkers saying good morning when you cross paths. Still a little unnerving, what are these people up to.
