    Had email correspondence with a barrister y'day on one of my cases re: what a widespread issue this sort of behaviour is, and what we can to do to try and resolve it. The IJs need training at an absolute minimum, this behaviour cannot go on.

    barrister today refused to use my client’s preference of ‘gay’ rather than ‘homosexual’. Said he was doing so ‘out of principle’. Judge couldn’t see what fuss was and angrily suggested we refer to client as a ‘gay homosexual’. Nasty stuff
