    Because they are elderly in poor health & believed they understood what they had read. [Had my 90yr mother-in-law staying for 3mths just prior to election. After listening for 90+ days I know how much she missed day in, day out. She was never close on either sides policies]

    In its way it was a repeat of the LNP tactic back in 1980 saying Labor would introduce a capital gains tax. I plead guilty to not urging Bill Hayden back then to tackle that lie head on. Scares do work unfortunately.
