    Virtually every mass shooter we see in US has a history of either: a) Violent behavior, b) Severe mental illness, and/or c) substance abuse.

    I'm talking about people w/ lengthy histories of violence who can LEGALLY buy guns (like most mass shooters) b/c of policies you advocate 4.

    Ok. What are those legitimate purposes? As for your 2nd point, you currently can't own a gun w/ a conviction of violence.

    Allow firearms for legitimate purposes, but do FAR more to deny access to individuals with a history of violence.
