  9. We're still energy dependent. Oil prices are global. If there's a shock in the Middle East, US prices go up even if we import 0 from there.

  10. His decision was to stay neutral on the standalone position. Congress knew that (or at least anyone who asked).

  11. That is different than threatening a veto specifically on carried interest. GWB did not do that nor signal to Congress that we would. (cont)
