    Whenever we get an inexperienced populist in office, the media always tells us that the "adults in the room" will keep them in check. That didn't work out for Donald Trump and it's not working out for Doug Ford. The "adults in the room" end up being their biggest enablers.

    These examples are just the tip of the iceberg. Bottom line, calling him a “hero” is like calling someone who opposed Hitler’s corruption but supported his Final Solution a “hero”. It is putrid and horrendously disrespectful of Ukrainians, Georgians, Chechens, and others.

    I’m seriously pissed. I wish the west would stop calling chauvinist Navalny an “opposition hero”. This great white knight supported the annexation of Crimea and regularly repeats Putin’s own words about Ukrainians and Ukraine being part of Russia.

    Exactly. They are TRUE Putin opposition. But not Navalnyi, who supports Crimea annexation, invading to Georgia etc etc. If he became the President of Russia, he wouldn't return Crimea to Ukraine and wouldn't approve Ukraine's way to the EU and NATO.

    There are Russians who are TRUE Putin opposition, who champion a true liberal democracy, complete with the rule of law in Russia. These brave souls take great risk in exposing RU’s war crimes & in demanding Moscow cease its various occupations and wars against peaceful people.

    It kills me that these courageous fighters who deserve the utmost Western support are largely unacknowledged. Gary Kasparov is absolutely amazing, but he isn’t the only Russian voice which deserves our ears and support. I hope so much we will see change on this front.

    Putin MUST go. He, and the regime he represents, must be toppled and destroyed. But we should care about who will come to replace it. Any old opposition to corruption is NOT good enough.
