Just curios, do you actually believe the IPCC modeling?

For instance:"The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which includes more than 1,300 scientists from the United States and other countries, forecasts a temperature rise of 2.5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century. "

Do you believe this? To me it sounds like apocalyptic nonsense, used for fearmongering and clickbait headline grabbing. To you?

Not sure if you are older than 30, but IPCC has been responsible for incredibly misleading modeling, purposefully corrupted data sets, and outright collusion to manipulate and deceive for political reason. This is available on wikileaks twice during Climate Gate & Climate Gate 2 -- which encompasses over 15,000 separate emails and detailed descriptions on how and why this manipulation occurred.

I'm very well read on the subject, and not denying that anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions do in someway impact our environment -- however I more closely align with actual scientists and meteoroligists, ie: American Meteorology Society -- which shows scientific consensus of a both statistically significant and independent body, that the majority does not believe in catastrophic anthropogenic warming.

If you are young, realize this:

Anyone who pushes catastrophic and apocalyptic narratives in order to pry you from your money -- for any reason, or moral good -- is likely full of shit.

Do you believe this?

Yes. The temperature is up 1.8 degrees since the start of the industrial revolution about 140 years ago. Climate change will accelerate worse and worse as the population increases. If no significant change happens, 2.5+ degrees is not an unreasonable assumption.

Tropic Thunder was prescreened for NAACP. RDJ's character's blackface wasn't to lampoon or mimic black people, but to make fun of people that thought blackface was alright. It was this weird reversal of roles that made it ok.

If anyone were to wear that as a Halloween costume (with the blackface), they would probably be called out for that because it's in a different context.

That was... kinda my point.

But, it was, he imitated a stereotypical black dude.

The character did, but Robert Downey Jr. didn't. He wasn't a dude doing a caricature. He was a dude playing a dude doing a caricature.

And at one point he was a dude playing a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude.

Bingo! I'll bet jukewrld was right, too.

"We came, we saw, he died" was the most clever of her one-liners, alluding as it did to Caesar's defeat of a different Levantine autocrat. Most people thought it revealed the cruel monster insider her or whatever, but I found it acerbic and apt.

Yeah. I'm not condoning physical violence here but frankly the guy at the end didn't really have anywhere else to walk, building site to his left plus traffic blocking him from crossing.

This is just another way for cyclists to be even bigger self-entitled dickheads than they already are.

IDK about London, but where I live, when sidewalks are closed like that, generally they tell you to cross the street and use the other side. Especially when there's a huge ass sidewalk on the other side.

It's far worse than the headline makes it sound:

The reporter asked him what he would do if his son or daughter came out as gay.

“Well, I would dress my daughter first, as I would take her for a pedicure, I’d take her to get her nails done, and see if she could swim,” Porterfield said, smiling.

“If it was my son, I would probably take him hunting, I would take him fishing, then I’d see if he could swim,” Porterfield, still smiling.

The reporter asked him to clarify. “I just want to make sure they could swim,” he repeated when questioned, continuing to grin.

She again asked him to clarify, and he said, “That’s it. I’d take them out to do activities.” He was still smiling, as if threatening to kill his own children were cute.

Imagine faction leaders actually being decently competitive against each other and interestingly characterized.

We need more fights where there isn't an obvious power gap where you know who's going to win from the onset.

I've been going through some tough times recently, but seeing Shazam dab has made me laugh harder than I have in weeks. It may be stupid, but there's something about it that just absolutely kills me.

I want a gif of that so hard.

Dye your hair orange and do Guy Gardner, man. Don't even have to change the style.

Good idea. I'd have to do a little more reading first but I'll keep it in mind!

FWIW, this is the costume I'm thinking. He's kind of a dick and has anger issues, but is a good guy. Was a popular P.E. teacher for special needs kids before becoming a Lantern.
