Moral Licensing
If you do something "right", something "moral", did you know that you may be more likely to use that as "credit" towards doing something "wrong" or immoral in the future.
"We all like to think of ourselves as morally sound individuals. However in doing so we often assume that morality is static – that we are consistently moral to some extent over time. In reality, research suggests that most of us will behave in contradictory ways and act both morally and immorally from time to time. Interestingly, when we think about our past moral actions, we are likely to engage engage in compensatory behaviour and act immorally going forward."
"For instance, if you recently donated to charity, you may donate less money at a future charity event or be less willing to volunteer. This has been termed moral licensing, and describes how previous engagement in moral behaviour provides people with moral "credits" that then affords them with a ticket to subsequently engage in morally questionable behaviour."

United States of America - The End is Nigh
It is not so much that the United States is going to disappear any time soon as a major global economic or political influence, it is more about becoming an IRRELEVANT COUNTRY on the global stage as everyone else RISES or MOVES ON. Other countries are going to keep picking up the slack, possibly learning from the mistakes of the US/Trump. Other countries will continue to divest from American ties, American dependence and American influence. Sort of like the way everyone starts to move away from the loud, obnoxious and arrogant drunk at the party. Although Trump's catastrophic political, financial and business failure seems inevitable now as the Mueller investigation continues to close in, he will no doubt leave behind a legacy. I only wonder how, or if, the United States will recover any of its moral authority on the global stage after the Trumpocalypse is over. I know the heart and soul of the MAJORITY (60%) is there, but will they speak up, vote and change the direction, change the reputation, of their country? Time will tell I suppose, but I am optimistic. :)

"On Wednesday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that President Trump had decided to revoke John Brennan’s security clearance, citing the former CIA director’s “erratic conduct and behavior”"
"I don’t particularly care about the impact this has on Brennan, who is a leading critic of Trump, but this is important for what it says about Trump’s contempt for process and governance."
"Trump — who plainly feels constrained from trying to remove Mueller — cannot do anything about the Mueller investigation except tweet wildly about it and threaten not to sit for an interview. So instead, he is striking a blow against his deep-state enemies behind the investigation, and hoping his base sees him as taking decisive action. That’s the story this is meant to tell."
